I have a fluffy chocolate Havanese pup who HATES having his hair brushed, but it can get pretty matted if I don’t brush him regularly. This paddle style brush is so much easier than most dog brushes that I’ve used. It looks and feels like a human brush with a nice wooden base. It’s comfortable in my hand and doesn’t seem to bother my dog as much as some others. I’m really pleased with this product.

The pins on this brush are longer and stiffer than my older pin brush (attached photo shows the comparison). I have a small yorkie with a puppy-cut so this new brush doesn’t work as well on her shorter hair. Plus with the firmer pins, they tend to scratch her skin. However, for dogs with long, coarse hair, I think the brush would work great. It seems to be well made.

Sturdy & effective but gentle
Nice little brush. Perfect size. Sturdy enough to go though a matted coat of syrup but gentle enough to not hurt. My pup seemed to enjoy it.
