I've used other retractable leads, they've usually broken within a few months. We've been using this for 9 months now, with no loss of function. The lock is ok, it could activate better in my opinion, but I bought this because it was supposed to be durable, and that's why it gets 5 stars.

I bought this to give my dog freedom to explore the creek and smells without pulling me off the road.He has taken off after cranes and I have not had any issues with quality. The thumb break does take some adjusting to in order to be able to control it quickly.Over all this is a good product.

We have been using this product almost daily for 8 months. It has survived many trips to the beach including in the salt water. Our 70 lb dog has chased other dogs at full speed to the end of the leash and the leash wins every time. The lock feature works well.

As an animal rescue, we focus on exotic pets (birds, bunnies, reptiles) but we keep finding strays or people drop off dogs and cats. Lately the dumped or neglected dogs have been 100+ pounds each. This leash allows them to run and play at much greater distance than a standard leash. Kong is a brand we trust. Our big fur kids wear out retractable leashes rather quickly. In just a couple of months they’ve tried their best to kill them. Kong dog walks are very reliable.
